Exeter City have confirmed they're thrashing out a compo fee with Chelsea for Ethan Ampadu.

The 16-year-old wonderkid joined the Premier League champions on a free transfer earlier this summer.

Exeter have reached out to Chelsea to discuss their offer and their chairman Julian Tagg has confirmed they have had a response.

He told Exeter's website: “We have recently received correspondence from Chelsea which is being considered as to whether there are any further steps that need to be taken.

“As soon as that decision is clear we will make sure that is communicated to the supporters."
