Exclusive: Valencia hero Carboni urges Torres to speak amid Man Utd, Liverpool interest

Valencia legend Amedeo Carboni has called on Ferran Torres to speak out on rumours linking him with an exit from the club.

Torres, 20, has emerged as one of Europe's brightest stars over the last two seasons.

Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with the Spain U21 winger, whileESPN claims Juventus have begun talks with Valencia over a potential deal.

With Torres' current contract set to expire in 2021, the La Liga club are open to selling him for €60m, less than his €100m release clause.

The situation has frustrated Valencia as they want to get the maximum for a player who joined their youth ranks aged six. They also know that staying at the Mestalla would be beneficial for Torres, who would have to fight for his place at one of Europe's big clubs.

Regardless of the outcome, Carboni - who won La Liga twice with Valencia - told Tribalfootball that he would like Torres to clarify his stance.

"Torres is a complicated issue for both: the club and the player," the Italian said.

"Valencia surely wants to renew him so that they can sell him at a better price, but always with a salary ceiling.

"The player or better said, his representatives, want to renew his economic conditions (well above the salary ceiling) or take him to a big club, like Liverpool.

"In all this I hope that the player can give his opinion because, in the end, his opinion will be the most important."
