EXCLUSIVE: Swedish football expert Soli says Roma and Leipzig interested in 'Alisson-like' Malmo teenager Johansson

Roma and RB Leipzig are interested in signing Malmo's teenage goalkeeper Marko Johansson.

That is according to Swedish football expert and former Mjällby sporting director Alessandro Soli.

Johansson, 19, is currently enjoying his second loan spell with another Swedish club, Trelleborg. He made 36 first-team appearances last season and helped the club win promotion to the Swedish top division.

And speaking to Tribalfootball, Soli revealed Malmo would be willing to sell the Sweden youth international for €3m.

Soli said: "[Roma director] Monchi is not the only one interested. Leipzig is interested too, for example.

"Roma's sporting director said that he 'doesn't know Johansson', but I don't believe him. The goalie has been transferred on loan to Trelleborgs. Swedish League will start on March and will close on October. I can't see him leaving. But, if a club offers €3m…"

"He wants to be a starter, that's true, but he wants to be be a starter in Sweden. He is very young, at the moment. He has only played in second division. He only made this experience, for now.

"To be a starter for Roma would be too much of a leap. He can't replace Alisson, but I suggest Roma's managers to buy him, possibly with some Italian club which could offer him the chance to be a starter. He surely has a bright future, he will be the number one of Swedish national team for sure."

Alisson, Roma's number one goalkeeper, has become a target for Real Madrid and Liverpool. Reports have said the Giallorossi want £80m for the Brazilian.

And speaking on Johansson, Soli says the youngster has shown similarities to the highly-rated Becker.

"He is still growing. Surely he is both mentally and technically gifted. I personally followed him, I can say that he is a goalie who leads the defence, he has a strong personality and he is elegant, a pretty sight.

"Furthermore, he is very reactive, quick to move from a goalpost to the other. He knows quickly get up from the floor too. For some aspects he reminds me of Alisson himself."
