Jeremy Brockie has revealed he came away with a few bruises from a recent clash with former Premier League defender John Paintsil.
The New Zealand international, currently with SuperSport United, took on Paintsil's Maritzburg United in South Africa's Premier Soccer League on Saturday and came out on top.
Former Wellington Phoenix star and Toronto FC loanee Brockie netted the only goal in SuperSport's 1-0 win at the Harry Gwala Stadium but not without a tough tussle against former Fulham, West Ham United and Leicester City full-back Paintsil.
"It was a good battle against Paintsil on the weekend," Brockie told tribalfootball.com of the Ghana international.
"He obviously was very good on the ball and a hard tackler give me a couple of bruises on the way but I managed to lose him for the goal though so the kicks were worth it."
Brockie's career in South Africa has kicked off in very bright fashion with the 27-year old having scored four league goals and two cup goals in nine games so far.
