Exclusive: Scout Bertuzzi says Chelsea target Tonali Premier League perfect

Italian football scout Fabrizio Bertuzzi has likened Sandro Tonali to Andrea Pirlo and believes the Brescia midfielder could excel in the Premier League.

Tonali has emerged as one of the brightest talents in Italian football, with Gazzeta Della Sport claiming the 18-year-old could soon receive a call-up from Azzurri coach Roberto Mancini.

Despite playing in Serie B, Tonali's exploits have not gone unnoticed by some of Europe's biggest clubs.

Il Mattinoreported on Thursday that Brescia had informed Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis that it would cost €35m to sign the Italy U19 international.

The report includes Chelsea, Roma, Inter Milan and Monaco as other interested parties.

Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has been aware of Tonali's talents since he was in charge of thePartenopei.

And Bertuzzi, who worked as a scout for Fiorentina and Bologna, says a player of Tonali's abilities would be perfectly suited for the Premier League.

He told TribalFootball.com: "It actually reminds of Pirlo, especially with his smart passes.

"He has the same attitude and he moves like Pirlo. Undoubtedly he studied him a lot.

"Good playmakers are rare and they can make the difference on the pitch, particularly in Premier League, where this kind of player is very rare."

Tonali made his debut in August 2017, aged 17, and has scored two goals and provided five assists in 29 first-team appearances.
