Welsh young gun Dylan Levitt will stay at Manchester United for a further season, but his future will quickly be in the conversation again.

The Welsh international spent time on loan most recently with Dundee United, where he garnered high praise and his achievements speak for themselves.

29 league and cup appearances for the Tangerines resulted in 6 goals, a place in the Europa Conference League and in the hearts of the Dundee fans, being named Fan's Player of the Year for his contributions.

Levitt against Celtic

Scottish coach Gordon Young has his ear close to the ground of his native Scotland, and had various colleagues praising Levitt's name.

"Dylan was outstanding for Dundee, they raved about him," Young, now assistant manager of Hartlepool United, told TribalFootball.com.

"I checked in with a lot of managers who had nothing but high levels of praise for him. Man United extended his contract, it's a testament to his work ethic and his performances."

Young's expertise is seeing the transition from youth players into first team football, and Levitt's recent loan stint to Dundee United was exceptionally executed for both the club and the Welsh midfielder.

"I've seen so many loan players not mentally prepared and view a loan move as a step down. When they get game time at another club, it's up to them to take that experience back to their own club and use that to grow. As a manager, it's imperative that you use your experience, knowledge and skill base into an environment where they can get minutes.

"When you go on loan you can take it one of two ways. You can feel sorry for yourself, or you can embrace your host club and truly take on the experience and become one of them. That's what Dylan has done, and he's been rewarded with a contract extension at Man United on the back of his hard work elsewhere."
