NASL powerhouse New York Cosmos remain hopeful of tempting Roma icon Francesco Totti to the 'States.
The Giallorossi captain is a confirmed target for the Cosmos, though there's growing confidence in Italy that Totti will be handed a new deal by Roma. However, Cosmos coach Giovanni Savarese says they remain eager to bring Totti to the Big Apple.
Speaking with Tribalfootball.com, Savarese says he'd love to work with Totti, though understands it will be difficult to separate him from his hometown club.
"I think Totti is a player any coach would love to have," he told Tribalfootball.com. "I think he's shown commitment to an organisation and that he's loyal."
Savarese says the Cosmos would have no problem adjusting their system for Totti, insisting his selfless manner would be easy to accommodate.
"He's shown every season that his team benefits from everything he has to give.
"So, I think any coach would be very content to have a player such as Totti."
The NASL champs returned to the top of the table this week after a comprehensive 3-0 win at Alessandro Nesta's Miami FC.
