Chinese-based agent Andrea Pretti is adamant Cristiano Ronaldo could one day play in the Far East.
But Ronaldo's decisions have always been motivated by football, and he instead opted to sign with Italian giants Juventus.
It is likely Ronaldo will see out of his four-year contract in Serie A, but could he take up the option to move to China afterwards and expand his global brand?
As an expert intermediary between European and Chinese clubs, Pretti says Ronaldo entertained a move last summer and believes it could happen again in the future.
He told TribalFootball.com: "Absolutely yes.
"It could go in the future and the idea had actually matured, only to remain a dream, given the alluring European alternatives, on which Ronaldo could still count.
"Recent history explains everything."
With the Bianconeri desperate to end their long-standing Champions League drought, they spent an enormous amount of money to sign 33-year-old Ronaldo, a five time winner of the competition.
Ronaldo vindicated Juve's outlay with a remarkable performance against Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 on Tuesday night. After losing the first leg 2-0 in Madrid, the former Manchester United star bagged a hat-trick to seal his team's place in the quarter-finals.
