Brendan Rodgers should reject other clubs to see through his project to elevate Leicester City to the next level, according to former Foxes CEO Barrie Pierpoint.
Since arriving from Celtic in January 2019, the Northern Irishman has done his best to help Leicester shake up England's so-called 'top-six' hegemony.
In his first full season in charge, Rodgers had Leicester sitting in the top-four for most of the season before a late form slump saw them finish in fifth.
This term has only solidified Rodgers' reputation as Leicester are sitting pretty in third on the Premier League table.
They will also face Slavia Prague in the Europa League last-32 on Thursday, and have reached the FA Cup quarter-finals against Manchester United.
Shrewd recruitment and billionaire Thai owners have certainly helped Leicester's rise, but Rodgers is a key component to their success and future plans.
Those plans could be thwarted by Leicester's rivals, most notably Tottenham, who would reportedly be interested in his services should they part with Jose Mourinho.
Having helped Leicester become a Premier League regular in the 1990s, Pierpoint is delighted to see the club competing for the title and in Europe, and wants to see the success continue with Rodgers at the helm.
"[Rodgers] is obviously a very smart manager and well sought after, with clubs after him," Pierpoint tells Tribalfootball.com.
"He's very clever and knows what he's doing, I admire the guy. I just hope that he stays with it and sees it through with Leicester to what he wants to achieve.
"Unfortunately some managers don't see their programs through. They come in with a vision for three years or five years. Alright it isn't always their fault that they move on, sometimes they get fired, but he's obviously well respected and I hope that he stays a Leicester and takes the club to the next level.
"And the thing about Leicester is, Leicester can be at the next level. Let's hang onto it folks. The club has done enough, they've spent so much money, not just on players but the infrastructure, and that's what matters I think. Some managers are on mega bucks and can't do the job, you can't buy success, you can develop success, but you can't buy success."
Leicester City's storied ascension to the Premier League and its footballing and marketing journey, is chronicled in Barrie Pierpoint's new book, 'Minding My Own Football Business', is available now at all good book stores, including Waterstones and online at https://www.mindingmyownfootballbusiness.co.uk/'.
