Exclusive: Gash delighted Norwich hero Culverhouse penned new Kings Lynn Town deal

Kings Lynn Town striker Michael Gash hailed boss Ian Culverhouse as the 'best manager in the league' shortly after it was announced he had signed a new two-and-a-half year deal with the Linnets.

Speaking to Tribal Football on Wednesday, Gash said he was thrilled that the former Norwich City player and assistant coach had committed his future to the club.

Culverhouse's side currently sit first in the National League North, having been promoted into the league last season.

“It's obviously great news for the players and for the club as a whole," Gash told Tribal Football.

“To have a manager of his pedigree at a club like Kings Lynn is great for everybody involved. In my opinion he is the best manager in the league – everything he knows about the game is brilliant. He is a tactician, he sees things that other managers don't see, his training sessions never got boring and he keeps all the lads on side. That is a tough thing to do, especially those that aren't playing, but there all the players listen to him and have great respect for him."

Gash is experiencing something of a renaissance in his career in Norfolk, after suffering a serious injury while playing for Barnet in August 2016.

Now in his third season at Kings Lynn, Gash has formed a deadly strike partnership with Adam Marriott, with the two players combining for 35 league goals this season.

Culverhouse rejoined the club in 2018 after a brief spell away with Grantham and Gash argues he is one of the best coaches he has seen at this level.

“He is definitely one of the best coaches I have worked with, and I have worked with some great managers, especially at this level."

Kings Lynn face York City at The Walks on Saturday in a top of the table clash.
