EXCLUSIVE: Additions of Pjanic, Alves can see Juventus break through in Europe

Juventus legend David Trezeguet has praised the summer signings of Miralem Pjanic and Dani Alves.

The Bianconeri landed Bosnian ace Pjanic from Serie A rivals AS Roma for around £27million while Brazilian full-back Alves has crossed from Spanish giants Barcelona following he expiration of his contract at Camp Nou.

With Max Allegri preparing his squad in Australia ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, club ambassador Trezeguet has backed the arrival of the quality duo to push the Old Lady into the next echelon of clubs in Europe as they chase success in the Champions League that has eluded them since 1996.

“It's very positive," he told Tribalfootball.

“The simple fact that they joined the team. It means that they are totally aware of what goals Juventus has for the season.

“With them and the right attitude, it shows that Juventus can no longer just perform and dominate the Italian league and the Coppa Italia.

“With their help, if they can play the way they have in recent times, the club can break through in the Champions League as well."

Trezeguet was speaking in Melbourne following Juventus' arrival for the Australian leg of the 2016 International Champions Cup, proudly presented by Audi.

The Bianconeri take on A-League giants Melbourne Victory at the MCG on Saturday night before meeting Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur at the iconic Melbourne venue next Tuesday.
