Vancouver Whitecaps are expected to name Carl Robinson as their new head coach early this week.
It is believed that the Canadian club will announce at a press conference on Monday that the 37-year old Welshman will be named as the replacement for Martin Rennie who was sacked at the culmination of the 2013 MLS season.
The former Wolves, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Norwich City, Toronto FC and New York Red Bulls midfielder acted as Rennie's assistant last term and will now step into the top job as the Whitecaps look to improve on their 13th placed finish.
