Ex-West Ham, Portsmouth striker Piquionne joining Everton womens coaching staff

Former West Ham striker Frederic Piquionne is joining Everton.

The 42-year-old, who had spells in England with Portsmouth, West Ham United and Doncaster Rovers, is joining up with new Blues boss Jean-Luc Vasseur, having told his over 20,000 Twitter followers that Everton Women is his new home with a photograph of their Walton Hall Park ground.

Vasseur, 52, who steered Lyon to a Champions League, French League and Cup treble in 2020, was appointed as Willie Kirk's successor last month.

Piquionne was capped once by the French national team while at Monaco in 2007 before switching his international allegiance to the Caribbean island of Martinique, who he represented nine times, scoring twice.

He also has an FA Cup runners-up medal having led the line for Portsmouth in their 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in the 2010 final.
