Former West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce admits his career could be over.

He has 24 years of managerial experience to offer, including successful spells at Bolton, Blackburn and most recently the Hammers.

But Big Sam told the Daily Star Sunday: "People may look at me as a firefighter - but I am more than that. I like to build a club.

"The hunger to work again will kick in but I don't know when that will be - that's why I'm not saying when I am coming back.

"It might never happen. I hope it does but there will be a time when it doesn't.

"It's happened to my mates down the years, where you are so quickly forgotten."
