Ex-West Ham attacker Diamanti excited about Brescia prospects

Former West Ham United attacker Alessandro Diamanti is excited about his move to Brescia.

Diamanti only had six months at West Ham, having signed last season from Livorno.

"I immediately wanted Brescia," he said after penning a five-year contract.

"Besides, after having given these fans a few disappointments as an opponent over the years, I have to get them to forgive me somehow...

"The initial impression is very good, both with the fans, who I consider to be crucial, and my teammates.

"Supporters are very different in England. At West Ham I lost a few too many games and was still applauded as I left the field, signing autographs at the exit for an hour. In Italy it definitely doesn't work like that!"

He added: "I have only been in the football that really counts for three years. I'm coming off an English experience with West Ham, but was very happy to come to Brescia and didn't think twice.

"I am very ambitious and clearly I always want to aim higher. Brescia represents a launching pad for me and I am thoroughly convinced by my choice."
