Former West Brom star Lee Hughes has become the first signing of Sven Goran Eriksson's reign at Notts County.

Hughes, 33, confessed: "Sven coming here is great for the club and the fans and, hopefully, he'll get the team going.

"People will expect a lot from us and the players have to step up. Hopefully, Sven will bring players in with ability.

"He's going to find a few of the grounds a bit strange but I think he will enjoy the challenge."

Eriksson is now chasing Sheffield United forward Billy Sharp.
