Ex-West Brom boss Moore named new manager of Doncaster Rovers

Former West Brom boss Darren Moore has been named new manager of Doncaster Rovers.

The 45-year-old was controversially sacked as manager of West Brom in March but will succeed Grant McCann at League One Doncaster on a rollling contract.

Moore said he was delighted to return to management at a club where he spent two seasons as a player between 1997 and 1999.

He told the club's official website: "It feels really good to be back, having been here before as a player to be back as the manager is an honour for me.

"I'm looking forward to getting to know everybody around the place, the role really appealed to me given the Club Doncaster model currently in place."

Moore played for Doncaster between 1997 and 1999, having cost them £60,000 from Torquay United.
