Ex-Watford boss Javi Gracia step away from Valencia appointment

Former Watford boss Javi Gracia is a step away from taking charge of Valencia.

Marca says Peter Lim has given the green light for the appointment to go ahead and the Spaniard will sign a two-year deal at Mestalla.

Various meetings have been held between Gracia's agent and Valencia, with the latest one taking place on Thursday.

There is no official agreement yet between the two parties, but the club hope to announce their new head coach on Monday once all the documentation is signed off.

It's been a turbulent season for Los Che, who sacked both Marcelino and Albert Celades over the course of it before finishing ninth in LaLiga Santander.
