Former Villarreal star Rodolfo Arruabarrena is delighted seeing Santi Cazorla enjoying late career success.

After almost three years of injury problems at Arsenal, Cazorla has used the stage at Villarreal to play his way into Luis Enrique's Spain plans.

Former Argentina international Arruabarrena, now coaching in the UAE with FC Shabab Al-Ahli, told Marca: "It makes me happy to see how he has returned, I have a good relationship with him.

"It is a soccer benchmark. I remember the Santi Cazorla from his beginnings, surely he is now an important voice in the dressing room. But there are several players who, from what I know, are the reference of the group. People like Trigueros, Iborra and also Santi, obviously.

"Hopefully something similar happens to Bruno. I hope he can be re-signed. They are kids who came out of there, have a sense of belonging to the club and have given a lot to the team."
