Former USA international Herculez Gomez says Napoli midfielder Hirving Lozano would thrive in England.

The Mexico international has been linked with Everton and Manchester United.

Gomez told ESPN, "Maybe a fresh start is what he needs and who knows, maybe this is actually the type and brand of football that actually suits him, in a team that can be vertical and in a team that can expose his pace.

"It could be a good situation for him, you just never know.

"Chucky Lozano did very well in Holland but the Dutch league isn't necessarily a league that is physical, that's known for its defending tactics or anything like that.

"I think he's got a huge wake-up call in Serie A, so jumping up a level, because it is a higher level to the Premier League, it's a toss up. I really don't know how he would do."
