Ex-Twente chief Van Halst: Chelsea boss Tuchel believes in Ziyech

Former FC Twente football chief Jan van Halst is confident Hakim Ziyech will come good at Chelsea.

Ziyech has struggled for form and fitness since his summer move from Ajax and now finds himself battling to win over new Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

But Van Halst told Ziggo Sport: "He does not yet have the dominance he had at Ajax.

“It is also a pitfall that we continue to compare his performances with his period at Ajax. We expect that he will immediately pick up the thread again there in England, despite the big difference in pace, the other system and the other trainer.

“The fact that the coach puts him in position, despite the fact that he has played poorly in recent weeks, shows that Tuchel has a lot of faith in him. That trainer just has to realise that Ziyech is at his best when he comes in hanging from the right."
