Former Tottenham star Pascal Chimbonda is happy to continue playing.

Chimbonda has signed for tenth tier non-league side Ashton Town, aged 39.

The defender, who was named in the 2005/06 PFA Premier League Team of the Year, is set to make his debut on Saturday.

Chimbonda has initially signed a one month deal with the North West Counties club after he represented them in a charity match last year.

During the peak of his career, he played for Wigan Athletic, Tottenham, Sunderland, Blackburn Rovers and Queens Park Rangers.

But most recently, the Frenchman played for non-league side Washington after a short stint with AC Arles-Avignon.
