Ex-Tottenham defender Francis-Angol slotting in nicely with Motherwell

Zaine Francis-Angol made his first Motherwell start on the weekend and impressed in his role at left-back.

The 19-year old former Tottenham youth put in a full shift as the Well beat Kilmarnock 2-1 at Rugby Park and admitted that it was nice to be able to adjust to life in Scotland after learning his trade in England.

"I was at Spurs from nine, so it took me a while to get over the change of playing in Scotland," he said.

"It was hard at first away from my family but everybody made me very welcome."

Francis-Angol made his Motherwell debut when came off the bench in the 3-0 Champions League qualifying loss to Panathinaikos earlier this month before replacing the injured Stevie Hammell for the league meeting with Killie for his first start.
