Former Tottenham captain Gary Mabbutt believes fear will drive England to victory over Slovenia today.

Seven of Fabio Capello's squad are over the age of 30.

And defeat could spell curtains for the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.

Mabbutt, who was capped 16 times by England, said: "It's the last opportunity for a lot of these players to play on the world stage.

"And I'm convinced the team will perform against Slovenia and go through to the next stage."
