Former Swansea City boss Francesco Guidolin is under consideration for the Italy job.
FIGC president Carlo Tavecchio has stated they're considering "important names" to replace Giampiero Ventura after his sacking yesterday.
His first choice is former AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti, who is available after his sacking by Bayern Munich.
TMW says should Ancelotti decline, then Tavecchio will turn to Guidolin.
The former Udinese and Palermo coach is a free agent after his dismissal last season by Swansea.
