Ex-Swansea boss Clement in frame for Reading job

Former Swansea City boss Paul Clement is favourite to take charge of Reading.

The Daily Mail says Clement and Graeme Murty are front runners for the managerial vacancy at Reading after the Royals pulled the plug on Jaap Stam.

Manchester United legend and Treble-winner Stam paid the price for a dismal run of one win in 18 games, which left the Royals hovering just three points above the Championship drop zone.

Rangers boss Murty, who served Reading for 11 years as a player, could make a sentimental return to the Madejski - his contract at Ibrox expires in the summer and he has been given no guarantees of an extension.

But Clement, axed by Premier League Swansea five days before Christmas, has been installed as he bookies' favourite.
