Motherwell boss Stuart McCall has been impressed with defender Simon Ramsden during his trial at the club.
The 30-year old free agent has linked up with the Well at their pre-season training camp in Portugal and has done well so far with another friendly game against Ayr to come this weekend.
"Rammers will get a game down at Ayr," said McCall of the former Sunderland, Rochdale and Bradford City right-back.
"He's a good pro and talks well. We had a nine-a-side game over in Portugal and he did well.
"It's an area of the park which does certainly need strengthening."
