Former Stoke City defender Danny Higginbotham feels Ryan Shawcross deserves a place in the England squad ahead of Cardiff City's Steven Caulker.
Higginbotham wrote in The Sentinel: "Ryan Shawcross has gone on to show himself to be an excellent Premier League centre-half, meanwhile, but even that isn't good enough to get him a call-up into England's squad for next week's friendly against Denmark after Cardiff's Steven Caulker got the nod in front of him.
"I know I'm biased, but Ryan has far more Premier League experience and surely is the better defender."
