Mauricio Pochettino left a heartbreaking farewell message to his Tottenham Hotspur players.

The Argentine was unable to say goodbye to his players in person after his sacking, as the majority of them were on international break.

Jesus Perez, Pochettino's assistant who was also fired, posted a photo on Twitter that showed Pochettino penning a message on a dressing room whiteboard.

"Big thanks to you all," Pochettino wrote.

"We can't to (sic) say goodbye...You will always be in our hearts."
