Former Tottenham goalkeeper Erik Thorstvedt can see Martin Odegaard making a return to Arsenal this month.

There's doubts over Odegaard's place in Real coach Carlo Ancelotti's new season plans amid talk of a return to Arsenal before the transfer deadline falls. Odegaard spent the second-half of last season on-loan with the Gunners.

Thorstvedt told VG: "Martin will soon end up in a situation where we talk about Arsenal maybe getting to pick him up, or if he stays. There will be uncertainty.

"Ancelotti has come in and he has played a bit in the training matches, but it is very difficult to know. It is difficult to know what the managers think and which players they end up with in the end. Real Madrid have a puzzle to put together."
