Former Tottenham defender Ramon Vega hopes Xherdan Shaqiri makes the most of his move to Liverpool.

Shaqiri left Stoke City for the Reds last summer.

Vega, now a London-based banker, told Blick: "He is a talented player, but in the big clubs he has never been a regular.

"On potential, he could make it at Liverpool. His chance will come with the double burden. But he has to use it.

"For me Liverpool is very hot for the championship title. That he could transfer there is a dream. Because Liverpool is currently in terms of performance quite clearly are above teams like Arsenal."
