Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has cooled talk of buying a Scottish club.
Redknapp has been linked with a buyout of Airdrie.
A report claimed the English legend was involved in talks with the League One club's co-owner Paul Hetherington to buy a controlling interest.
Redknapp told The Sun: “Ever since I said recently I fancied a return to football I've been inundated with hundreds of messages from clubs.
“I do like the idea of an involvement again from the football side of things – but I certainly won't be putting money into a club.
“It's true that I spoke with the Airdrie chairman and he seemed a decent fella. I was also impressed with what he had to say.
“But I'm certainly not trying to buy Airdrie – and I can honestly say that it won't be going any further.
“I appreciated their interest.
“But there won't be anything happening there."
