Former Southampton striker Kevin Davies has announced his retirement.
Davies plied his trade on the pitch for 22 seasons with six different clubs.
The 38-year-old, who scored 150 goals in 820 career appearances, left Preston North End at the end of last season after helping the club win promotion to the Championship.
Davies, who surprisingly only earned a single England cap, called time on his career by sharing an image of a pair of boots symbolically hanging up, with the caption: "It's been emotional. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way #22seasons."
Davies admitted that his only regrets were not playing for his hometown club Sheffield United, where he started his career in the youth teams, and only winning a solitary cap for England.
"One of my biggest regrets is not playing for Sheffield United," he told talkSPORT.
"I grew up in that area but it was one of those that never quite materialised, sadly.
"I would have also loved to play for England more, to have gone to tournaments and have those experiences - but I could only have done what I did."
