Former Southampton manager Dave Jones is eyeing a shock return to the club.
The Daily Mail says Jones wants to make a return to Southampton as sporting director.
The struggling Premier League side are weighing up a list of candidates for the role after allowing Ross Wilson to join Rangers.
Jones, 63, has vast experience in the game and managed the south coast club between 1997 and 2000.
Though his last managerial post was a brief and unsuccessful with Hartlepool in 2017, he has continued to work in the game and was among the figures who tried to save Bury from going out of the Football League earlier this season.
