Former Australian international Craig Moore has been arrested in Dubai under the influence of alcohol. The 34-year old ex-Brisbane Roar captain had an alleged drunken clash with police after he was pulled over for being suspected of drink-driving.

Being drunk or under the influence of alcohol in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates is illegal and Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade today confirmed Moore was in police custody.

Local news outlets were notified that Moore would be held in custody before appearing in court on the weekend and if convicted, would serve any time in a local jail.
