Gary Madine is available after having his contract with Cardiff City ripped up by mutual consent.

The striker scored 26 goals for Wednesday earlier in his career, before joining the Blades on loan last season and helping them into the Premier League with three goals in 16 games.

A short statement on Cardiff's website read: "Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that Gary Madine has left the Bluebirds by mutual consent.

"We'd like to thank Gary for his efforts since joining the Club in January 2018 and wish him well with his future career."

Cardiff paid Bolton £6m for Madine in January 2018, and he helped them get over the line in that season's promotion race before joining Chris Wilder's Blades on loan, and repeating that feat.
