Ex-Sheffield Utd boss Wilder linked with Celtic job

Former Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder is being linked with the Celtic job.

The Examiner says Wilder's reign at Sheffield United and yet he has already shot to the top of the bookies' list of odds for the next Celtic manager.

Wilder's time in charge of the Blades came to a sad end over the weekend after a behind-the-scenes fallout with owner Prince Abdullah led to the United boss losing his job, with Paul Heckingbottom named as his successor until the end of the season.

United announced that Heckingbottom, assisted by former Bournemouth manager Jason Tindall, will lead the club until the end of the 2020/21 season but no concrete decision has yet been made on a permanent hire.

Eddie Howe and Frank Lampard both featured on the bookies' list of odds for possible Wilder replacements once news emerged on Friday morning of his impending exit and the duo are long shots for the Celtic job too.
