Ex-Russia coach Byshovets: Chelsea owners will struggle to match Abramovich success

Former Russia coach Anatoly Byshovets says Chelsea's current owners will long struggle to match the success of Roman Abramovich.

Russian billionaire Abramovich was forced to sell Chelsea to Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital by the UK government after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Despite Chelsea's massive spending spree, Byshovets remains unconvinced.

He told RB Sport: "For Chelsea to build new footballers, it takes time. Under Abramovich, the level of managers was higher. I can't say that the current coach of Chelsea (Graham) Potter haas charisma and extensive experience.

"Abramovich had a good team. He invested in stars. Even Kevin de Bruyne had no place. There will be problems in Chelsea now, and this season will not be recorded in the team's asset column."
