Former AS Roma captain Francesco Totti admits a move to Real Madrid during his playing career was close.

Totti spent his entire career with the Giallorossi.

“I was really close to moving to Real Madrid, but I made a huge life decision to stay at Roma for my entire career," he said.

“If I had decided to move, my choice was to move abroad but only to Real Madrid out of respect to the people and supporters of Roma.

“But in the end, I made the right decision to stay with my team that I have always supported and support forever."
