Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon says Jose Mourinho was rejected by the players ahead of Zinedine Zidane's appointment last night.
Mourinho had been tipped to replace Santiago Solari, but Zidane was named coach on another dramatic day at Real.
Calderon said, “It's a good choice. The other one was Mourinho,
“But I think in the last few days the leaders of the dressing room have pushed to reject that possibility.
“He left here with a lot of problems. I think he would have been another problem added to the ones we already have. First of all it's good to have him (Zidane) back as a coach."
