Ason Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez is being backed to leave for a bigger club.
Before moving to Villa, the 30-year-old had a number of loan spells away from Arsenal. He played under Jose Gomes during his time at Reading. And it's the Portuguese coach who has tipped the goalkeeper for big things.
“Psychologically he is very good," Gomes told Marca. “He withstands pressure well and does not let himself be influenced by anything.
“In addition, he is very strong in the air game: he attacks crosses safely and forcefully. He meets another very important requirement that we were looking for: he has great footwork.
“The pressure doesn't scare him. With all due respect to Aston Villa, he has the necessary qualities to make the leap to a team that can aspire to everything."
