Ex-QPR, West Ham, Man City midfielder Lomas set for St Johnstone job

St Johnstone are believed to be close to appointing Steve Lomas as their new manager.

The Perth club lost Derek McInnes to English Championship outfit Bristol City last month and reports suggest that 37-year old Lomas, a former Manchester City, West Ham United and QPR midfielder, is the man to replace the departed despite having no experience in senior management.

Former Northern Ireland, Newcastle United and City goalkeeper Tommy Wright will be Lomas' assistant and brings with him around seven years of management experience in Northern Ireland with Limavady United, Ballymena United and Lisburn Distillery.
