Ex-PSV chairman Van Raaij raps Fergie over Man Utd Stam deal

Former PSV Eindhoven chairman Harry van Raaij has taken aim at Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson.

Van Raaij remains unhappy with the way Ferguson signed Jaap Stam in 1998.

“I think that Alex Ferguson (then manager of Manchester United) did not play a good role in Jaap's transfer," he told AD.

"He had already approached him and did not inform us. Oh well, that's how it went then.

"I now feel at ease with it, and just wanted to get the best out of it for PSV."

Stam is now head coach of Feyenoord.
