Former PSG coach Luis Fernandez has spoken of the big names he almost managed to sign for the club.
Fernandez was in charge of PSG for two spells - 1994 and 1996 then between 2000 and 2003.
He recalled to JDD: "The players I almost signed? David Trézeguet had done a test with us. Laurent Blanc after Saint-Etienne. Christian Karembeu in 1995. I also spoke with Zizou to replace Rai, whose club wanted to sell (1994). And then I had came upon Roberto Carlos in Brazil.
"As for Gabi Heinze (2001): I followed Valladolid because my sister got married there. During a match I only saw him, I had him scouted, I get information: 'He's the biggest motherf****r on a pitch', my former player Rafael Alkorta told me, 'But in the locker room, he's the most generous boy in the world'.
"Is that so? So I took him."
Heinze signed for PSG before moving onto Manchester United.
