Former Paris Saint Germain sporting director Antero Henrique is in contact with Newcastle United.
Newcastle's new owners are intending to hire a first sporting director in the club's history. Mike Ashley sold Newcastle last week to a Saudi Arabia-backed consortium, which includes the Public Investment Fund. The Magpies changed hands for around €350m.
Fussball Transfers reports their early search has led to making contact with Portuguese Henrique.
Henrique has been out of football since 2019 after his departure from Paris Saint Germain. The 53 year-old was director of football at FC Porto for 11 years before eventually taking charge of PSG in 2017, where he spent two years before being replaced by Leonardo.
Along with Henrique, Newcastle also have Lokomotiv Moscow's Ralf Rangnick under consideration.
Newcastle resume their Premier League campaign this weekend against Tottenham - the first since the change of ownership.
