Ex-Premiership ref Poll brands Liverpool's Ngog "absolute disgrace"

Former Premier League ref Graham Poll has branded Liverpool striker David Ngog an "absolute disgrace" for his dive against Birmingham City last night.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez admitted afterwards that Ngog conceded that he didn't think it was a penalty.

And Poll told the Daily Mail: "What an absolute disgrace David Ngog was in committing one of the most blatant dives I have ever seen.

"Referee Peter Walton should have a serious look at himself as he really MUST detect such obvious simulation and punish it.

"Watching the game on television I immediately called it as a dive - not being clever, just that it was so obvious.

"If UEFA's experiment to introduce six referees proves successful then the additional assistant referee would have been perfectly placed to yell into his microphone and tell Walton, 'It's a dive!'"
