Former Premier League ref David Elleray is set to run his eye over Belgium's referees.

Elleray, the chairman of the English referee committee, will deliver a report to the KBVB.

KBVB chief Peter Bossaert revealed: "I am very pleased that David Elleray accepted this assignment.

"He is without doubt an international top expert. We have a long and proud history in Belgium in producing top referees, but for some time now we have lagged behind international standards. In addition, the recent events made it essential to take action.

"We have the ambition to improve the quality of the Belgian arbitration in the short term. With his extensive knowledge, I am convinced that David Elleray is the right person to help us develop a master plan and a strategy for the future. Belgium must once again bring forth top referees."
