Former Portsmouth star Robert Prosinecki has been named head coach of Serbian club Red Star Belgrade.
Prosinecki succeeds Aleksandar Kristic, who parted company with the club earlier this week.
The 41-year-old former Red Star playmaker, who also was a star with Real Madrid and Barcelona, becomes the first Croatian coach to work in Serbian football - 19 years after war tore apart former Yugoslavia.
"I know that there will be some people both in Croatia and Serbia who will have something to say about it, but I really think that we should all move along and build our future together," he said. "Hopefully this move of mine will help achieve that goal."
