Former Portsmouth boss Tony Adams is looking to step back into management at Aldershot.
The Mirror says Arsenal and England legend Adams, sacked by Pompey in February, is among more than 50 applicants to take over at the Recreation Ground.
Caretaker boss Jason Dodd has presided over two defeats since stepping in when Gary Waddock quit to take over at Wycombe earlier this month.
A club spokesperson said: "We have received a high calibre of applicant. An appointment is ready to be made by mid-November."
