Ex-Palmeiras director: Gabriel chose Pep over Inter Milan

Former Palmeiras director Alexandre Mattos can see Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus moving to Inter Milan.

Gabriel has been linked with Inter as a replacement for Lautaro Martinez.

Mattos said, “He would undoubtedly be a great signing. We are talking about a top player and an exemplary professional. If Inter manage to catch him, the team's technical quality will undoubtedly increase."

Mattos also revealed Inter made an attempt for Gabriel before he joined City.

"We had two meetings with Inter and their offer was €45 million," he told FCInterNews.it.

“Gabriel had already spoken and given his word to Guardiola. There were four major European clubs on him. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Inter. All options made him very happy."
